A little coolness remains in the shade beneath the trees

As July enters its final days, the height of summer has arrived in Japan. Temperatures have risen above 40°C in some places, and the heat has grown so intense that even stepping outside can feel daunting.

What will Japan’s summers look like ten years from now?

This picture was taken at Akame 48 Waterfalls(赤目四十八滝) in Mie Prefecture. Listening to the sound of the falls, I somehow begin to feel a little cooler.

Even when we cannot escape the heat, we can still find a sense of coolness in the shade, the sound of water, and a passing breeze.

As summers continue to change, I wonder if these small moments will still feel the same ten years from now.
